Ms. Lisa’s middle school conceptual classroom is designed for creativity, exploration, and higher-order thinking. Students spend their time engaging with complex ideas and learning how to ask questions to help them develop a better understanding of the world.
Most of the class time is spent either engaging in hands-on activities or deep discussions about our conceptual unit. The main goal is to engage with conceptual topics on a deeper level so that students can make connections and analyze events.
The classroom is changing this year to facilitate group work, hands-on learning, and class discussions. It now has round tables and next year will include a rug and flexible seating so that students are comfortable in different learning situations.
